The approach

Somewhere you can finally exhale, and let your body set the pace.

This is for you if

  • Tension keeps coming back, whether it's one stubborn spot or your whole body
  • Stress is showing up as poor sleep, headaches, or feeling wired but tired
  • You've had massage before, but want an approach that looks at the bigger picture
  • You're recovering from injury, illness or a long stretch of pressure

What this isn't

  • A day spa. It can be deeply relaxing, but every session has a clinical purpose
  • "No pain, no gain" massage. Firm when it's needed, gentle when it's not, and never forced
  • A quick fix or a "one-size-fits-all" massage. Each session is shaped around you
  • Anything other than professional, therapeutic treatment

The studio

Step into a safe space

A private place without judgement. Let go, clear your mind and give your body the attention it deserves.

Deep blue walls, Moroccan lamplight, soft music and a gentle aroma. Warm in winter, cool in summer. A home-based studio with its own side entrance, bathroom and shower. One client at a time, at an unhurried pace, so you never feel rushed.

Restore your natural rhythm.

The session

Settle first. Then release.

A stressed nervous system guards. Muscles brace against firm pressure, and the work becomes a battle rather than a release.

That's why every session includes Craniosacral Therapy: gentle work that settles you first, so the massage can go further.

Meet Mathew

I came to bodywork the way many of my clients do

Hi, I'm Mathew — the person behind Tempo Bodywork, and someone who's seen firsthand what the right touch can do.

Twenty years in the corporate world took a toll — on my health, my stress levels, and the people I love. Bodywork was the thing that turned it all around for me — and that's why I do this work now: sharing what I've learned, and helping others find their way back too.

Every session draws on my training across Remedial Massage, Relaxation Massage, Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release, shaped around what your body needs, not a fixed routine.

Come and experience it for yourself — let's restore your natural rhythm.

Before you book

Coming for the first time? The first-visit guide walks you through everything, from arriving to heading home.

Read the first-visit guide
Should my first session be 60 or 120 minutes?

If you're unsure, begin with 60 minutes. It gives you a real feel for how the two therapies work together, focused on the area that troubles you most. For whole-body tension or sustained stress, 120 minutes gives us time to do it properly.

Why combine Craniosacral Therapy and massage?

When you're stressed or in pain, your nervous system guards. Muscles brace against firm pressure, so a therapist pushes harder, and the session can end up feeling like a battle rather than a release.

Craniosacral Therapy is gentle, still work that helps your body shift into its rest-and-repair state. Once you're there, the massage that follows often meets less resistance, and tissue that would have fought back often softens more easily. When deeper work is needed, your body is usually better able to take it. That's the idea behind Tempo: a calm room, gentle work first, then skilled hands where they're needed.

What happens in my first session?

We start with a conversation about what's bothering you, your health history and what you'd like from the session, and I'll look at how you move. Then comes Craniosacral Therapy, followed by massage tailored to what we found. We finish unhurried, with time to rest, rise slowly and check in on how you're feeling.

What does Craniosacral Therapy feel like?

Very gentle. You lie on the table while I use light, still contact wherever your body needs it, from your head and spine to your limbs and feet. Most people feel deeply calm. Some notice warmth, tingling or small spontaneous movements, and some drift off. All of that is normal.

What should I wear?

It's entirely your choice. Many clients undress fully, others keep their underwear on. Either way, you're draped with a towel throughout, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

Can I claim a health fund rebate?

I'm registered with ATMS, so most private health funds offer a rebate on Remedial Massage. Rebates apply to the Remedial Massage portion of your session. Cover varies, so check with your fund before booking.

How often should I come?

It depends on what you're working through. For ongoing tension or stress, a few sessions close together usually achieves more than one-offs, which is why the series of three exists. We'll talk about what suits you at the end of your first session, with no pressure to commit.

Do you come to me?

Yes, by arrangement, within 50km of Aldinga Beach. Mobile sessions can't be booked online, so text me on 0404 834 771 or send an enquiry and we'll find a time that works. I bring a table, linen and everything else; you need a quiet space of about 2 × 3 metres. Travel is $50, plus parking where it applies.

Who do you see?

Men and women, 18 and over, of every age, body type, background and walk of life. You don't need to be into "wellness" to benefit. If you're carrying tension that won't shift, this is for you. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or have had recent surgery, mention it when you book so we can plan the session safely.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at the full session fee, or deducted from your series. Running late? Just send me a text. Your session will still end at its booked time.

Where is the studio?

2 Wild Orchid Avenue, Aldinga Beach SA 5173, about an hour south of the Adelaide CBD. By appointment only. Arrival details are sent when you book.
